Our Story
It was raining on the Rue de Seine and the bookshop was the only place open. Sofia was reading the last page of a novel first, which James still thinks is a crime. He said so. She said the ending is the only part worth trusting.
They argued about it across the street, then across a very small table at the café on the corner, then, three winters later, on a bridge with the lamps just coming on, where he stopped arguing and asked instead.
We kept walking until the streetlights came on, and then a while after that.

WEDDING
Long tables, no speeches. Come as you are and meet everyone before the day itself.
Short, candlelit, and unlikely to start on time. Please be seated by quarter past.
Champagne on the terrace as the lights come on, then dinner and dancing until they ask us to leave.
Coffee, eggs, and whoever made it out of bed. Drop in whenever you surface.

Travel
Fly into Charles de Gaulle or Orly; both are forty minutes from Saint-Germain by taxi, longer at rush hour. The Eurostar arrives at Gare du Nord, a short metro ride away. On the day, the church and the reception are fifteen minutes apart — we will have cars waiting after the ceremony, but it is also a lovely walk along the river if the weather holds.
